Gabimaru, the hallow, has been betrayed by his village and finally caught by the government. He was sentenced to death. The problem is that no one can kill him. They try to cut off his head, and they fail. They try to rip him apart, burn him at the stake, and suffocate him. Nothing works, so he is given another choice: fulfill a secret mission for the shogunate, and he will be granted a pardon. The mission is simple: go to a newly discovered island and drink the elixir of immortality. The problem is that the island has the ability to grow flowers on humans, not to mention all the competition he has to deal with.
Season 1 Episode 1
Many different ways to kill people
I always enjoy this about anime and stories in general. This idea is that people can be so strong that they cannot be killed. Not many people could get their necks to break swords. I guess Japan has always been fond of finding ways to kill people. However, I did not know they had so many different ways to try and execute people. I mean, they have been cutting off heads for hundreds of years. You would think that would be good enough, right? I guess they want people to suffer for their crimes at times. Well, if anything, this particular episode had a lot of good history.
Season 1 Episode 3
All you need are hands
That was pretty entertaining. Gabimaru was ripping people apart with his bare hands. However, I am not really getting this whole thing between him and his supposed executioner. To be honest, I hope that they do not waste too much time on her. She seems like one of those characters who is just a whiny rich girl who is not going to have any interesting arcs. Then again, I guess Gabimaru could get a second wife out of the whole deal.
