Sergent Frog
I think I enjoy Momoka most of all. It is funny watching a girl stalk a guy and worry about whether or not his mom and sister are trying to seduce him. Plus Gundam building frogs are always cool.
I have yet to write this... because I am lazy or something
Sergent Keroro was sent as part of an elite infiltration group to conquer the planet Pekopon... Earth. However, through a few set backs, and one REALLY bitchy teenage girl. He was captured by a family of insane humans. Well that and he seems to enjoy making Gundam models. Now he has to figure out a way to escape and take over the world. You know without angering his current captors... or not finishing his chores... there is also the issue of the Gundam models.
However, he is not alone in his endeavor. He has his elite team of other insane frogs and a deity. Who will listen to him because he out ranks them all. They will help him win the war against his captors... wait I mean earth. You know when the Sergent is not busy building models are doing chores.
Season 1 Episode 14
Fresh Jokes
t is kind of weird when jokes about kidnapping feel like a nice change from the usual messed up jokes in this anime. Seriously, with all of the other jokes revolving around people being crazy it is a nice breeze. Hell it was even creative. I liked the "Wow you really do not know who your mommy is do you" That was cute.
Season 1 Episode 17
Some Things Never End Right?
You know Keroro seems to be hell-bent on enslaving Pekopon. Yet he fails to realize that people are less creative when they are enslaved. Who is to say that Gundam would continue should he succeed. That is the question we all have to ask. Along with the question of when do the Japanese hit the growth spurts?
Seriously, it is kind of weird seeing how anime writers view human growth. I mean Natsume received a pretty big upgrade in just 10 years. Which is kind of weird seeing as how she is almost done with general growth part of her life. Or maybe I am missing something. Though it is funny to see how no older woman is actually flat in anime. Their boobs seem to be on a never-ending growth spurt until the day they die... hmmm...
Season 1 Episode 11
Girls Are Girls
So here is a thought I never really had until today. Have you ever noticed that in a lot of anime. "Girls" aliens always look like really hot humans. Even better some of them have magical transforming powers that make them human, like Sumomo. I have always wondered about this. I have never seen an anime where there are alien men who transform into guys. Most of the time the alien men are just weird looking. Hmm... one has to wonder why this is.
Well I want to wonder why this is, however, I know why. It is because girls are cuter than guys. The only thing that is cuter than a human girl is a space girl. Why because a space girl has no sense of fashion for earth. Therefore she will wear obnoxious things deemed "Cute" because she doesn't know any better. Oh well.. this will remain a great mystery for me.
Season 1 Episode 8
Cultural Differences
So I guess no anime is complete without a girl who has completely detached from reality. Of course she has to be rich with a wonderful assortment of servants who she can pay to think she is not insane. While I know that Funimation did not mess with the animation. I am pretty sure that most of the writers have taken a lot of liberties with the actual dub.
You know, most of the crazy in love girl stuff is not funny to us Americans. So they have to make it funny to us. Which is just fine. It makes sense when you want to actually sell these DVDs. However, I am left to ponder just how much of what Momoka has said is actual translation into plain English, and what is translation into American Culture
Season 1 Episode 5
I Remember Hiding Toys
Ah it is funny to remember the good old days when I bought toys. Well when I didn't buy toys for that matter. After all, I was not exactly rich, and my mom did not really like me buying toys. So I would have to save up my money. Which meant I had to figure out ways to keep the other spoiled kids from finding the toys I wanted. So I did the dishonorable thing and hid the toys I wanted. Then again, I normally expected them to stay hidden for more than three weeks sometimes. Oh well it is funny to see Keroro pull that.
Season 1 Episode 10
I Wonder How Much Bandai Made On This Anime
So after watching this episode and seeing how many Gundam references are made. I have to wonder if Funimation is making any money off this show. After all, every character was blatantly ripping off a mobile suit in this episode. Don't think I did not notice the little White Base needle. All of those things.
In the past it was a name here and there. However, now there is an entire episode dedicated to ripping off Gundam. I know that flies in Japan because I am pretty sure this anime is written by the people who own gundam. However, one has to wonder. Hmm I wonder how many more seasons are available... according to AniDB there is over 350 episodes of this anime.
