So let me get one thing out in the open here. I watched the dubbed version of this anime. So my review is based pretty much solely on that version. I cannot be a sub watcher all the time. Even I get lazy sometimes. That being said I have to say that this anime was pretty amusing. It makes no excuses for what it is. A random anime about aliens who suck at life. Each has their own qwirks and stuff like that. Plus the translators did an alright job of doing some cultural translations as well.

The cultural translations are what make and break dubbed anime. Sometimes they try too hard. Lets look at the 90s to see trying to hard. Other times they do not try at all... Hmmm I cannot really think of a time when that happened. I feel there was a nice balance of what was translated in this one. Then again we have been seeing fansubs for a while where there is no cultural translation. So maybe it was just me. I am far from any expert in japanese culture. Regardless, this made the series much more enjoyable. Had there been a really poor cultural translation then this anime would not have worked.

However, tiny random episodes work really well when there is a good balance of translation and stuff that is just left there to lie and do nothing. Oh how hilarious it is. I think it is even funnier because there are just parts that make no sense. Like th whole dark Momoka saga. I was left to sit there and scratch my head. However, it was funny listening to her talk about snuggling the entire time. All the wonderful destruction and stuff like that was neat too.

All in all I would say people should watch this series. It is a good one to pass the time. Plus you do not really have to pay attention to see what is going on. That is always a plus. The important parts are emphasized and the lame jokes are kind of whispered. Plus there are not many sagas so that makes it even better. I never had any problem stopping watching this series. So it is nice and relaxing. Enjoy it.
