So hate to burst any bubbles but this anime really disappointed me in the end. I mean for having such a rich setting it seems like having a decent story is something that was over looked while they were making up all the lore and rules of this world. I guess that is something that happens, sadly I wish it had happen to the lore and art and not the story. It is just sad given how much potential this anime has. I guess at the end anime is not anime without tropes.

As per usual, the anime follows at least one trope by the book. You cannot do anime without having at least one trope being very carefully followed. In this care it is the child of a famous person who... well for lack of a better term abandoned her and is maybe dead. As usual the child wants to find said parent and follow in their foot steps. Also, as expected, really the character sucks at doing the job that she is supposed to become a legend at. Do not get me wrong she is not completely useless but... what skills she does have are minimal at best. It is not like she has any skills that are difficult to obtain outside of reading a book and writing some stuff down. So that makes this particular series very difficult to enjoy. You can only watch said main character do something stupid after observing the danger of said activity so many times. Good thing she can manipulate her over powered companion.

I get that Reg is supposed to be some kind of super special thing, but seriously he comes off as over powered. He has built in rope, super strength, durability, and a beam cannon. Not to mention the fact that he really does not need to eat and is immune to all the problems that most people will face when going down into the pit. So if you really look at this anime you have one character is useless and basically uses her companion so that she will not die, which is what gold diggers do, and you have the guy is the only reason sad female is alive. It is just annoying to have to watch this kind of crap. Even worse is when you have the side characters who have a more interesting back story and plot around them.

Seriously, why did this happen? A side character with a more interesting origin than the main character. Well I guess that is not too uncommon, but still it is very annoying in my eyes. Just because the main character is lame and has no real reason to be doing what she is doing does not mean you make her companions out shine her. The story behind this character is far more entertaining and far more interesting a pursuit than "Hey I am going to find my maybe dead mom". You have the kids getting kidnapped and experimented on. Then you have the one crazy guy who everyone thinks is amazing and all of that stuff. Then you have our main character. It is such a vast disappointment to have to know that I am going back to the main character soon.

Yeah anyway, I guess that is all I really have to say about this. There is not much more to be said really. This anime does not have enough good to out weigh the bad. That is just the way that things. I know that it is going to be a painful watch whenever season two comes out because I am kind of curious to learn a bit more about how the whole ranking process works but you know that is just something that I can dread for a while because I do not know if Amazon is not going to be a bunch of dicks and not get the second season. Not that I would really be devastated about something like that happening.
