Black Clover
I will rate this after I am done with other anime and stuff
I have yet to write this... because I am lazy or something
I have yet to write this... because I am lazy or something
In another world everyone has magic oh wait before that there was a umm mage who came out and saved the world from demons and stuff. Thus he was crowned king of the land or something and there was peace or something. Anyway, a while later two orphans show up in a poor town. One of them is blessed with great magic the other... not so much. However, they both share the same dream of being the next Wizard king and somehow both of them are capable of doing this right?
Season 1 Episode 102
Enough with the fillers
Okay, so how many episodes have recapped the entirety of Asta and Yuno's fight with Licht? I do not know why we have to see it so many times. I mean, let us move the story along. We get it. The battle was lost gloriously and epically. That has been beaten into us. Now make use recoup that couple of minutes of storytelling and get back to the task at hand. Then they add insult to injury
That is right. They eat up half of this episode with a flashback, as well. That is right, we have to sit through and watch the sister reminisce about all the letters and stuff. Yes, we need to waste time on that. Oh man, what is going on, are we getting close to the manga or something. The next thing that is going to happen is there will start being fillers. Maybe we need to have a break for a while or something. I just want to watch with no flashbacks.
Season 1 Episode 72
Fanservice Done Right
Finally, a group that knows how to properly do the required, and very much so pointless, hot spring episode. I always happen when the writers manage to not just waste an episode by making it 100% fanservice nonsense. I mean to this day I do not understand what the fascination with the hot spring trip is. We get a bunch of steam covering the fun bits, even in the Blu-ray release, there is splashing and whining about proper, and then the episode ends. The only reason to watch them is for the tiny last-minute plot point that is thrown in to make sure you watch to the end.
Except in the case of this episode, not only do they put the nonsense at the end of the episode, there is actual character development. You see how Asta actually learns how to think and all of that jazz. I mean yeah he is not thinking too hard most of the time, but you know at least we see that he can be a bit more thoughtful than just sort of screaming and working out all the time. It is always nice when characters do develop just a little bit.
Season 1 Episode 75
Annoying Tournaments
I will never understand why a staple of the shounen genre is to have some tournament. Even more curious is how much effort the artist puts into making sure that we see every fight. We do not need to see any match that is not being had by some centralized character. Well, now we get to the annoying part where the tournament fights take up two or three episodes. However, at least they figured out how to make an intro now. That is a good thing; I was so very annoyed with the spoilerific intro that we had for the past ummm whatever it was episodes. I mean we know who is going to lose and who is going to win well at least we know who is getting to the top and who is staying on the ground. Well, no matter it is interesting to see what kinds of magic they come up with. The spore magic was a neat idea.
Season 1 Episode 54
I Hate Flashbacks
seriously, Black Clover, you are going to waste 20 minutes on a flashback that did not need to happen? I am very annoyed with this right now. I want to see how things are going to work out and what magic they will do to Asta. However, now I have to wait until next week, and I am frustrated. I do not care what Asta's relationship is with those characters.
I guess that I am okay with the fact that this will probably help limit the flashbacks in the future, but still, I doubt that there will be no more storytelling about the early days of Asta. Nope, I am sure that we are just another couple of episodes going to be wasted on telling the story of these extra characters who are there to provide an enemy. I mean geez, this is like providing a backstory to the people in the water temple, there was no need, so they did not do it. Oh well, I guess I should power my way through the manga so that I can see exactly how close we are to the anime.
Season 1 Episode 21
Still Going
Well it is a relief that this anime is still going. It will partially fill that dragon ball shaped hole in my life. Though this has the makings of a weird kind of twist where something weird will happen and we will just sort of have to fill in the blanks. Anyway, it is really annoying to me how slow Asta is. I cannot believe it took him two full episodes to think, "Hey I am anti-magic" and then cut the curses off. That was very annoying but still at least he got th ere right before he bleeds out. Now we get to wait a week and see what happens.
Season 1 Episode 6
Idiots
You know I will never understand why all the main characters in these shounen series have to basically be brain dead. I mean is it really that popular to want to root for someone who barely knows how to walk much less be a magician? Ugh well whatever, I guess we need to show people the value of never giving up since that might be a problem in Japan. Still I am getting bored of the main character being so incredibly... well stupid. It makes the show hard to watch especially when they just get lucky over and over and over again.
Season 1 Episode 11
There is Always a Group of Losers
I know that this is a Japanese thing but still I will never understand their obsession with having a group of losers and deadbeats who are somehow useful. It is just baffling to me I mean maybe there is some underlying story or token or something but still it is hard to watch and these crappy people somehow get note worthy work or something. Well regardless there is no real reason to do much other than watch again it is all fiction. I just do not understand some stuff even after all these years. The losers who are some how the linchpin of reality. Yes they suck at life but they will be the ones to fix everything.
