The cute little anime with a very interesting concept. I think that is my favorite part about this anime. The idea of the psychic in the world where there are a bunch of normal people. It leaves a lot of rooms open and makes it so that you can be crazy and goofy. Plus you add in the whole outcast ruining her life angle and you have a lot of room to mess around with things. I think that was the main thing that makes this anime good.

How our little hero has a dark past but a bright future. There are plenty of things that can go wrong to keep the anime going. That is a hard thing to find in a lot of these slice of life animes. Most of them rely on heavy drama or heavy comedy to make the anime worth watching. Granted I think that sometimes the anime went a little overboard, but that is just how the anime had to be. Especially the last ark of the anime, that one was a little odd... even if you kind of saw the whole thing coming.

I this is also an anime where the repeated jokes are actually still funny through the whole thing. I am of course speaking about how Manabe is always just filling Kotoura's mind with perverted thoughts. That is the one joke that actually stays kind of fresh. I think the main reason why it stays fresh is because we are having it shoved down our throats. That is the one thing that seems to make this anime work. The fact that the repeated joke does not happen every episode. Which is good because it did not fit into some of the arches.

Yet another good thing about this comedy anime there are actually a few small story arches that go on. That is not something that is commonly seen in animes like this one. Most of the time there is a driving plot that just encompasses the setting. That is the age old working technique. However, you have to go through each stage of the story. One thing happens rise, climax, fall then the next thing happens. Everyone grows a little and the world is a happier place. So that is something that is interesting to see in this anime as well.

So overall this is a pretty good anime. Nice and casual, but at the same time it looks like the main author put more effort into it than just trying to launch a good old fashioned comedy career. That is not something you get to see very often with an anime like this one. Most of the time you are hit with one joke after another rising to a climax at the very end.
