I have to say this is one of the things I hate about majority female animes. It is the super best friend syndrome that comes with it. You know the kind of world where girls are all playing nice and all like each other and all get along no matter what. They all center around the one female character. It is just one huge girls club where everything is peachy, happy, innocent and pure. That makes it much worse than what you see with the pirate side of things.

Yes the pirate side of things is just a joke. I guess I can understand the need for what they do. It is like a huge insurance fraud put on by the insurance companies. The insurance companies have an excuse to raise their premiums and then screw everyone else over in the process. I guess it is just kind of annoying see Pirating reduced to dinner theater. Then again, the only time it really gets to be like that is when the girl crew shows up.

That had to be the worst part of this whole anime. The whole arch where the... well I won't spoil much. Suffice it to say that there is a quarinte. That is the start of the worst part. I guess I am not surprised. You get a bunch of boat horny girls on a ship and say fly it and help me do my job. Of course they think it will be all fun and games. Of course they will get cold feet the moment shit turns bad. At least Marika was able to step up and act like a real leader there. Granted that was not enough of a saving grace for it.

This anime might have been better if they had not stolen a few ideas from One Piece... however at the end of the day why not mimic great animes that make lots of money. At least they wrapped up the end very nicely. It was almost like the writer learned how to write a story as they wrote this anime.
