A Good Way To Seperate Things
Hmmm so I think the place where this anime really excels is not wasting a bunch of time on the whole group of girls fighting each other thing that most anime like this one does. True there are a few times when this runs into standard harem anime where all the girls are busy being jerks. However, most of the time the anime centralizes around the one on one interactions between the various female cast and Aito.
this manes the anime much more tolerable in my humble opinion. Mainly because a bunch of time is not wasted on the bickering and annoying tendencies of the female cast. True enough Aito still gets treated like garbage, and there are even times when he deserves it. However, by having the anime focus on just one female per segment makes the anime much easier to tolerate. There was only so much time in each episode so it was actually pretty well used.
Another great device in this episodes is the length. To be honest this anime cannot really hold my attention. If it was 20 minutes per episode I might have decided to drop it just because... well it can be kind of intolerable at times. However, being only half of htat gives this anime a much needed boost. Simply because on the days when the episodes are not really all that engaging or interesting I know that it will be over soon. Heck they even went one step further and broke the episode up into mini-episodes.
You know I think this might have been the original format of the anime. Just a quick little 4 minute blurb here and there. You know like Azumanga Daioh, each episode has its premise. The premise of the episode is very obvious, as such the anime rises and falls quickly and before you know it the anime is over. Which could be kind of sad at times since Aito was the most entertaining part of the anime.
Aito really makes this anime great because he is not like a lot of protagonists who are kind of oblivious to their actions. Aito is well-aware of what his is doing and how he goes about harassing the females. I guess you could find that kind of endearing about him. He does not really do much other than be himself. Himself is just funny, I mean how many guys do you know go out and buy panties... I mean yeah there are plenty of venues in Japan for that kind of thing. At least AIto is not weird like that. No he is weird and crazy in public. He buys his panties in broad daylight around lots of other females who will find him to be a creep. To be honest I am kind of annoyed with the creepy stalker perv character who is always running around giggling about the fact that he has porn.
Overall, this anime is not a complete and total flop. There are plenty of good points which can make a marathon worth while. I do so enjoy it when an anime can do that. Then again those that I cannot really find any endearing points to are usually dropped... man I must have REALLY low standards sometimes. Oh well I guess that i just life.
