You know Yuri is a lot of fun... well Yuri like this anyway. Not the hardcore girls torturing each other seeing how much of a gaping hole they can make yuri. no the simple fun yuri where it is just a bunch of girls not understanding what being a homosexual actually means. Except for when the animators decide to get lazy and replace sequences with symbols and avatars. Then there is the fact that no matter what time of the year it is there are sakura leaves falling every where. It is like the magical sakura tree is in bloom at the year around. Though I think that the thing that annoys me the most is the fact that not all the pairs are a part of the story.

This story seems to largely focus around Haruka nad Yui. They are the only clearly not straight group of girls there. In the opening sequence there are two other pairs. However, they are really just there to cover for hte writers when they have noticed that people are getting annoyed with seeing Haruka and Yui do nothing. They need to add in a couple of other girls who sit around and do nothing. Even better really only one other pair of girls is used. There is another pair of girls, but their actions make them almost appear straight. Then they make the mistake of showing adding pairs in right at the end.

I mean I guess Sumisumi was there the entire time.. in spirit anyway. However, there is a new character with her some what homosexual side-kick. At least with Yui's sister they added her in early enough to make it so that it would not be weird when she showed up. Not with Sumisumi, it was like all the of the sudden a new president was needed. There was Sumisumi to appear and fill the role despite there was nothing leading up to the student body elections or anything like that. Which is kind of funny how that works out for us. I guess the only good side about the last minute character is they did not have time to come up with a good avatar for her.

Is it just me or is anime getting lazier. We have computer animation. So why do they have to just do the whole floating symbol thing? People bouncing around as flowers or leaves or fruit.... I mean it is just hard to watch when you know that corners are being cut for the sake of attempting to be cute. I get that the avatars were representations of all the characters.. though I did not really get Haruka's. I just love the episodes where the animation was just repeated animation of these avatars. I mean geez I think there was at least one episode where the episode could have just been flowers and fruits and stuff like that. The only thing that was stranger was the never-ending snow of Sakura petals.

Am I the only one who noticed that whenever they were at the school there was always some kind of large amount of romantic Sakura petals falling in the background? I get that Sakura petals are a device, but still.. I mean the many trees had to be in full bloom year round and have the fast rate of their petals regrowing that ever could be. Yeah yeah I know that this is an anime and who cares about that kind of thing. Still why could they have not just done something else.. you know like give the sakura petals meaning instead of just always having them there so they could paint the background pink?

So yeah, this anime has it annoying points as well. I mean I can only take so much of two girls who are supposed to be gay for each other not at least exploring those feelings or something. Then maybe they could have put some effort in to slowly ween us into Sumisumi. She did not have too be a regular character. She could just be a cameo "here I am" character like the president. No instead I think she gets one or two introductions and then she gets to vanish into air until she is needed again. Man I am getting tired of writing and making stuff up. Anyway, there are the avatars and petals as well. So yeah plenty of odd an annoying things in this anime to make it a bit more difficult to watch.
