You Know the Plot Right?
So lets break down the original plot of this anime. The plot of this anime centers around a young girl who falls in love with a state worker after he saves her from a dog. She is 100% committed to her onii-chan who she will one day marry. Supposedly this is the story of her and her attempts to get her love. I wish that were really true. However, that is only the over arching plot. Really all they do is set the characters for the anime.
I mean I cannot really count the number of episodes where you actually saw the fabled onii-chan. He was just not in this anime. Well not literally, he had one or two episodes and he did get to fight of Chitose-chan. However, the anime itself was just sort of.. well crazy and more crazy. All it boiled down to is Chitose and her many rivals for her Onii-chan's heart.
That has to be the most disappointing part of the anime. You have this premise that could be awesome. You have an old guy and and young girl who is trying to marry the old guy. However, all you see is the girl, her friends, her parent, and her teacher. That is all that this anime really consists of. To be honest it is a little disappointing in that sense because you want to see more of how the male plays into this anime.
Even if I give the anime the benefit of the doubt and say there are only so many things you can do before the anime grows stale. I cannot help but think that the anime was not trying hard enough to make a story. Really Chitose and here crazy friends hogged the spot light. That is all they did. Whether it be the dad complex girl, or the costumed one. They were the only ones in this anime. Of course you had to have the main rival. Your stereotypical old hag teacher. You know the single girl in her.. what was it the late 20s early 30s? I do not know it was really hard to tell. There is such a huge range of age for old hags like that. I mean where did the middle age man who everyone was lusting after go in this series. I understand that this was supposed to be a romantic comedy, but well you might as well have thought of making it yuri.
When I really sit back and think about this series, as funny as it was, I am glad that it was only a three minute per episode anime. There is not much else that could have been done with it. You have to appreciate that the suffering ends sooner rather than later. I am pretty sure this one would have become stale after ten minutes anyway. So yeah, you can check this one out only because you can pound through the entire thing in the time it takes to watch two regular episodes of anime.
