I really enjoyed this anime, it had a little bit of everything I like, violence, magic, attempts to explain the impossible. The only thing it is missing is females of legal age bouncing around in swimsuits. I mean there were females, however, the females were a bit to young to be seen doing that. However, some things must be sacrificed in the war between ESPers and Magicians.
I really liked how the author of this series managed to take two very different things and combine them into one. On one side you have magic and the other you have science. And as far as I can tell there is some kind of secret war being waged, or there is in the magicians eyes. Mainly because the city falls under attack by magicians far more than it does bad ESPers. And despite all of that they manage to keep a realistic level of violence.
In the beginning anyway, everything is some what realistic. All actions obey the laws of physics. Meaning people cannot jump off 5 story buildings and survive unscathed. The sense of mortality is very refreshing. Plus it is always fun to see someone get their arm sliced off by a magical force.
