Madoka is just your average half-wit female. She is cute and nice. She has her two best friends. She lives a life of peace and happiness. However, one night she has a dream and sees another girl in it. This girl is fighting something, alone. Upon arriving at school Madoka gets to meet said girl. Said girl is WELL aware of Madoka as well. Then a chance encounter between Madoka and a small being called a Kyubei brings Madoka's dream into light. She is a magical girl and Madoka can choose to be one as well.
The Kyubei will grant Madoka one wish. In exchange Madoka must rid the world of witches. Beings born out of curses, who have to ability to create Monty Python cartoon worlds. Dangerous worlds which only Magical girls have any chance of surviving in. Madoka gets to see first hand the danger she has to face everyday. She is now left with a choice. Take the blue pill and pretend this never happened, or take the red pill and see how far the rabit hole continues.
Season 1 Episode 8
The Twist Begins
I cannot say that I did not see... whatever is happening to Sayaka coming. Seriously, she is one messed up female. Granted I am pretty sure her little boy toy would have rejected her. As most geniuses do, he is too busy getting off on his violin. It is hard to tell if Kyubei helped instigate Sayaka's condition. There is definitily more to him that meets the eye.
Granted the twist is becoming kind of obvious. The supposed good guy is really the bad guy. Everything invovling witches and magical girls seems to tie back to Kyubei. I am hoping that whatever explaination comes up will not be too obsurd.
Season 1 Episode 7
Kyubei Was Right
In this world people are way to sensitive about where their souls are. Seriously, Kyubei makes a valid point. With their soul extracted they are more likely to survive. They can be rebuilt over and over and over again. I do not get it really. Especially Sayaka's obsession with not being human.
I really do not understand why she cannot be with this guy. Aside from the fact that he is a narcissist who only cares about playing the violn. He would not pay you any mind one way or another hun. His ego is inflated because he is just naturally good at what he does. Why does it matter what your body is? Seriously, at most he will use you as maid. At the least end of the spectrum you will be his sex toy, get over it.
Then there is Madoka. For someone who is so very peace driven she seems to have a romance of battle fantasy or something. I mean why else would she get so upset when Sayaka goes insane and uses the one talent of her current form? Something bad needs to happen to Madoka and soon.
Season 1 Episode 6
It is happening again
I knew it, I knew Kyubei was too cute to not be evil. Then again I have to contemplate the question of if what he is doing is really evil? I mean... it is not like he withheld the truth from all these girls. He just forgot to mention it. Hmmm... maybe he is not evil. After all, he can justify the actions. In all reality if Madoka was not... well Madoka said discussion would have never happened.
So it is happening again, the one thing that always happens whenever I start watching a magical girl anime for the story. I come to despise the characters. This time it is not the entire cast. I actually like Kyoko and Homaru. They are sane females who are down to earth. It is Madoka and Sayaka who piss me off. What with there innocent "Just talk and we can all get along&qout;, in the case of Madoka. In the case of Sayaka... well she has that rightous justice thing going on. I am starting to hate the main characters. The same fucking thing happened with Nanoha. I came to despise the main characters. Well in the case of Nanoha I came to despise the entire good guy side. Anyway, enough of that rambling. Why do the heros always have to be such saps?
I should not feel as ill as I currently do after watching some of these shows. Especially when there is a good plot. Why can't the main characters in anime be more like Kyoko or Homaru? Seriously, that would be a good anime to watch. People who are not doing what they are doing because they were chosen or something stupid like that. People who do what they are doing because they got something out of it. It would be nice to have some hero who would be fueled by greed of some kind yet still do what is considered the right thing. Oh well, at the rate this one is moving I only have 6 more episodes. I can survive that.
Season 1 Episode 5
I Believe The Term Is Heavy
I believe that some Japanese would describe this anime as heavy. More and more darkness and depression is spread as Magical girls start to beat the crap out of each other. Too bad I have to wait another week to see what happens.
Granted I am kind of annoyed with the difference in power between all of our magical girls. We have Sayaka who is a noob. Then we have the new magical girl who is... well I am not sure what the term is. So I will say advanced. Then we have.. Hourmei...? YEah I think that is her name. Who is... well basically an admin. The question is where will Madoka fall into this range? After all Kyubei says she has incredible talent or something.
Speaking of Kyubei, I am pretty sure he is evil. After all he recruited Mami by appearing to her when she was dying. He is definitely trying his hardest to recruit Madoka. After all Madoka is a traditional magical girl heroine. She cares nothing for her own well being and is easily swayed when others are in danger.
Season 1 Episode 1
Look It Is Monty Python.
You know an anime is worth it when the bad guys are Monty Python characters. What makes this even more awesome is the fact that watching the anime is like a VERY bad acid trip at times. Even better the girls have to make a choice and are not just forced to do so. Wow... I think someone is getting an angry letter
Season 1 Episode 3
Well I am sold
The last few minutes of this episode sold me on this anime. For many reasons, I think the fact that I wanted to cry at the end was the main one. That far outweighed the shock of what happened. Who ever heard of a sad magical girl anime. This anime is definitly worth watching. Even if it is likely only going to get one season for not following the generic magical girl anime cast.
