Yona is the princess of the of a kingdom, the next in line to rule the country. She lived a carefree life with her father, and her childhood friends, Hak and Sowon. Then when she turns 16 her world is turned upside-down as Sowon kills her father in order to take the throne he felt was rightly his father's. Too bad for him Yona witnessed this murder and was now a target. Lucky for her Hak is willing to protect her no matter what. They both escape and go on the run as vigilantes.. or something like that.
