It is not like this anime is devoid of good qualities. Nope it has one really good quality, the tank animations. That has to be the best part of this anime. The creators took the time to CG most of the tanks and their animations in the battles. That was probably the main saving grace of this anime. The battles can look cooler if you have a computer doing all the animating. Plus in general the battles were pretty entertaining. If there was one thing they did it was make intense battles.

Ah yes the battles, really this was the only thing that kept me going through this anime. I hated the episodes that were leading up to the start of the fights or in between the fights. Those were the really boring parts of the anime. I mean holy crap, you can only watch moe girls be giggly so much with out the bursting out into random lesbian orgies. However, the fights were good. They tool a pretty good chunk of time making sure the tank battles were realistic. Plus they were intense, I mean really intense. Explosions and all that kind of stuff. Plus the CG made the battles even better.

Really this anime would have been pretty bad if there was no CG in it. I am glad they took the time to do the CG. It is hard enough drawing tanks, but animating them and making it look good, holy crap that would have been a nightmare. I cannot even imagine how much effort that would have taken. So therefore the anime itself would have had to suffer. Plus you get a good look at how CG is limited in anime as well. There are a few moments when it looks like a PSX moment. Those were hilarious, but it was good to see what mistakes people should avoid making in the future. Otherwise with a little math you could have made the series even better.

So overall, this series is not a complete waste of time. You know it is just a really really annoying waste of time. Where people really waste my time because now I know that there will be a million figures coming out and creepy stories about guys marrying their tank sweethearts. Granted most of the military otakus are all about survival and not sex so I am wondering how that will play into this.
