The worst part about this anime is the obnoxious complex love polygon that it forms. He likes her and she likes some other guy and she likes the other guy that likes her. You have this obnoxious complex weave of crap that really gets in the way of the series. So many times the action and story is broken up by hormone driven angst that it gets really annoying.

Lets take Kanna for instance. She kind of ruins this series for me. Because things just roll along nice and quietly. Then she has to go meddle and be a bitch. She is probably the worst in the whole anime. She yells at everyone for not being bold enough. Yet she sits around in her own little puddle of self-hatred. Then she yells at the other people who are oblivious to the situation. Then all of the sudden she falls back. At least Mio and the others knew when not to meddle.

Then there is the whole sci-fi thing to make things worse. For the first five or so episodes you just sort of sit there and wonder how Ichika is going to play into this whole thing. I mean she is just the cute innocent homely girl who happens to be from space. I guess that is better than the other side where the person is bitchy about being stuck on the rock. However, they just introduce it then let it hang. I mean if there was no Rinion in this whole thing you would be able to forget that Ichika even came from space. So that is something that the authors let slide around a bit. I mean I can see how it served a purpose with the whole secret thing. At the same time there could have been a little more to it all.

So once you get past these two problems the anime is tolerable. Maybe this is just my personal opinion on anime too. Always take that into consideration. I just get bored watching anime that seems to walk dance around major plot points, like being from space. Or has the whole being "in love" and being depressed because one side or the other is not making any kind of move. So it is not like these are series enders or anything.
