Purse Them All
While we may be surprised that a girl might actually be chosen in this anime. The challenge is getting to that point. I think that this anime would have been better off if they had just had Shingo pursuing the girl he ended up with. Instead of doing this pseudo-pursuit of every other potential mate. Well the umm I guess legal and proper ones. Thankfully Shingo is not incestuous nor is he a horrible boss.
The fact that Shingo has to kind of pursue every potential mate in this series messes with the pacing of the series. If he would just go after one. Then there would not be so much forced character development. That is the thing that really gets me. There is the hardcore forced character development while Shingo wins over and rejects the rest of the girls. Which screws with the pacing of the story
You kind of know who will end up with Shingo. Which just kind of makes this story move slowly or too fast. Sometimes there is one episode for development sometimes there is three episodes for development. Other times there are seemingly random episodes. This series is a short series. Yet they decide that everyone who really gets developed. Will not be the ones Shingo ends up with.
Really looking at the story, the end path is fully developed. The only thing she is missing is a man. So when you finally get to that point it is kind of like a slap in the face. There is no real subtle flirting or anything like that. It is just BAM one day they are together. Just like how when that day comes all the other girls swear off all other men. You know instead of just flat out hating men.
I almost forgot, a chunk of the characters hate men. Why would you make the two rejected characters hate men? Seriously, why can't one just hate men and the other be obsessive? That makes no sense to me. It is like they flag the girls as the ones who would be rejected. Granted I would not have any real interest in a girl that hates men. It is even funnier when they act all heartbroken and sad that Shingo does not want them. Seriously, if you tell someone you hate their gender. They will write you off. Speaking of which what the hell was that stuff with Sena?
In the first episode she is like a normal human being. Then she becomes a completely different character? What the hell, why the sudden change and writing off of a particular trait like that? It feels like that could have been more important than they made it. Suddenly Sena is one character and then suddenly she is the character that she is for the rest of the series. Why not just make her a bitch the entire time? That way there is no plot hole lying around to mock us.
Maybe I have been ruined by Yousga no Sora for all of these dating sim based animes. That was probably the best one out there, that I have seen. The boobies are secondary in that one too. The way they wrote the series just makes it better. Had this anime followed that format. I am sure that this anime could be viewed as better. Oh well, that is what happens I guess.
