Playing the Xenoblade Game
I have always kind of been mystified by the reuse of names for games or anime for no good reason. Especially since the game that has been taking up the majority of my time, Xenoblade Chronicles X, has nothing to do with the original Xenoblade game. I mean really they just recycled the name because it sounded cool and well this is one time when it actually works out without me caring too much. I guess that is what happens when a Wii U game, or a Wii game, takes advantage of the system. i know for a fact that I loved the Wii version because the Pro-controller controls were much harder to use. So I guess I will go ahead and tell you what you should expect in this game.
So first and foremost I think that everyone needs to appreciate this game. This is one of the few games where you the Tablet is not just some extra gimmick. The tablet itself plays a pretty important role. I mean I do not see myself being able to play the game without the tablet at this point. The tablet holds all your mini-map information. To be honest being able to use my tablet like I would be able to use an online map has made this game that much more enjoyable. Normally I would be pausing everything 5 minutes to look at the map. However, now I can just look at my tablet and find everything I need. so if you are one of those losers playing on a pro-pad just give it up and move back to the tablet.
Though there is one thing that really annoys me in this game and it is the gathering aspect. If you are looking for advice on starting the game. Gather every blue diamond you can and do not sell anything, sell nothing because hoarding will suit you better during this game. It is the situation where if you sell something the next mission you are going to find will require what you have sold. So when you are playing make sure to hit every blue diamond that you can without endangering yourself. After all, if you are in combat you cannot pick up those kinds of resources so you have to be very careful. However, you just need to hoard and hoard everything. Whether there be crafting or missions or whatever you will have to use everything you gather up until post-game.
So while you are gathering enjoy the artwork. This game seems like the developer put an extra bit of effort into the artwork. The creatures, the landscape, the way the night sky works. For a Wii U game there is plenty to see. Just make sure that you avoid those high-level creatures.
Yes you can run in this game and I would get used to running early on. Just walk around the non-aggressive ones and avoid the line of sight for hte aggressive ones. This provides a challenge in and of itself, but exploring the world yields so much more than just sort of trudging along in the story.
The world is complex and at times can be hard to navigate. However, do not give up. Use your maps and with time you can figure out he true path. Let me say that taking the time to actually do all my FrontierNav, or the majority of it, up front has saved me tons of time with my extra and story missions. Being able to warp around the map saves you tons of time and energy. Which is important later on in the game when you want to avoid low level aggressive characters.
So yeah if you are looking for an example of a great Wii U game then look no further. The game pad is used properly, there is plenty to see and do and even better the game looks great despite the inferior hardware. Did I mention there are no motion controls because they would be useless? Yest this game sees to have had a lot of thought and effort put into the game. So if you are looking to pick it up stop hesitating an pick the game up a see how frustrating it is to get a 1000% explored map in this game. So yeah stop reading and go out and buy this one up it is not everyday that you get a great sample of a well-made Wii u game
