Death of a Macbook
Uhhh well now I have even more reason to be a bit behind on my postings. You see my main personal computer is dying from.. something. I think it is age or an evil Apple plot to try and make me buy new equipment. Much to their shame it will not work on me. I am never sure with Apple.. I wonder if it is because I am using 10.7 on something that is officially a Gen one intel macbook. However, I guess that is the price you pay for being duped into thinking something might be better. At least windows is getting better.. ah crap I need to get an OEM version of windows 7 before they are gone.
SO the question is how does one know when one's macbook is dying? Well for starter when you are crazy like me and have multiple partitions on your macbook. You can run a very simple set of tests. A test like seeing if Firefox reacts the same way regardless of what platform it is on. Oh yeah seeing seg faults during routine updates and stuff like that. Ah how wonderful it was to sit around and watch stuff like that happen. It is also gratifying to know that macbooks can die horrid deaths and stuff like that as well.
So for now I am stuck on my work laptop. Which means I am going to have a lot of code that I need to migrate over to this machine or something. Uhhh I am not looking forward to forcing windows to do SVN. That will just be annoying. I am going to miss the command line as well. I mean that is the reason why I still use my mac and stuff... however now all those tools are lost to me... I wonder how I am going to get my backups of fansubs to work now. Oh well that is something to think about at a later date.
