Observations Off My Diet
So this past weekend my Nutrition challenge ended and I decided to take a short break from my paleo diet. So I went to some of my favorite restaurants and bought some really bad for me stuff that I cannot have on the Paleo diet. While I was expecting to be in pain... I did not really know what to expect. Boy did it suck feeling pain after eating some of my old favorites that it has been well over 45 days since I last ate them. I mean literally, I was in physical pain from eating them. Made me want to just go back to being paleo again. Then something dawned on me.
Why is it a good thing to eat stuff that would cause you pain if you stop eating it for an extended period of time? I mean... why is that an accepted practice? It makes no sense to do that. I mean if you have to adjust to eating something then is it not a bad thing? I guess the same could be said about my habit of eating peppers.... well regardless... when the most common staple in almost every diet on the planet is removed from your diet and then put back in and it causes you pain. Isn't that a red-flag of some kind? I have to wonder why no one thinks about these things. Then again I did not think about them until I stopped eating them.
So I have to wonder what exactly we can say about this. I know the grains are cheap. We mass produce them so they can be cheap. However, I have to wonder why we need to force ourselves to eat these. I mean you would think that a clear reaction of pain would be a good indicator that we should not eat something. Oh well, at least I have a good incentive to stick to my diet and have as few rest days as possible ^_^. Granted the ice cream did not hurt too much.
