President Time Concerns
So sometimes time moves so quickly I forget that it was just four years ago down-town was infested with sappy, do-gooders, who want to give anyone a handout who asks. Hard to believe it is already time to watch the republicans squirm as they try and find the best way to kick the Democrats out of office. However, first my favourite part of the election. The civil wars inside the party.
It was way funnier last year with Obama and Hillary. I honestly thought that the democrats were on the edge of splitting into two. That would have been nice. I am tired of their being two major powers these days. Odd who we claim to be a free society. Yet anyone who is not a republican or democrat never seems to get into office. Anyway I am currently watching at the republican civil war.
So I came across something talking about Mitt Romney's tax records. Talking about how he only paid so much and blah blah blah blah blah. The gist of it was he is rich and is screwing the little guy by paying less taxes. You know doing what real capitalists do. Figuring out ways to keep that giant pile of money lying around. For useful things. Such as beds, chairs, toilet paper, or a blow up doll. All made out of money.. I wish I had a blow up doll made out of money. However, I digress, the point is to give out some kind of smear on him.
So I have to wonder, are there Americans really that lazy and stupid? I mean seriously, are there really people out there who are so stupid that they will not vote for someone for working the system? Hell I thought that was the American creed. "Thou shall screw over thy neighbours and not look like a bad guy". Maybe I am mistaken, then again I am not so hippie do-gooder. Anyway where was I... read read read read.... Oh yeah stupid Americans. I wonder about these people. You know the ones who decide they are not going to vote for one candidate based on their income. I mean it makes no sense. People who care about that really hate the rich.
So I have to wonder when the last time someone managed to be poor and be president? I mean there are millions of dollars that are spent doing these campaigns. I mean from the ads, to the posters, to the flights, to the call centres, to all that other crap. It is very expensive to run for president. I mean even the small other parties... that I guess exist. You have to be bringing in at least six figures to be able to run. People who actually care about that crap always hate those who have more money than them. So why even bother?
I do not know, it just seems like a waste of time to care. After all, what is the presidents income going to do for us? Unless the president is going to pour every cent of his or her net worth into the national debt. There is no reason to care. Some might say honour and dignity, and stuff like that. I say I do not care. What I care about is the job that will get done. Then again, not much work gets done these days. After all there are miles of red-tape to eat any good that can come from most presidents.
