A Trip Down The TV Shows of The Past
You know, it sucks when your favorite TV show is cancelled before you can see the rest of it. You know, first they move the show around and don't tell you about it. Then they stop advertising for the show. Then suddenly you feel like a bad fan as you don't know where the show went. You cry a little because there is nothing to indicate you will ever see your show again. Then you move on find another show... or hobby... or something of that nature.
Then someone has the brilliant idea of cashing in on nostalgia. So your show is suddenly released en mass to the public to make a quick buck on the losers who might have liked it. Then you decide to watch this show to take a trip down memory lane. The problem is that you are older and wiser. You watch Season one, you think "that was good I remembered that". Then you get to the season you have not seen. Then you get to see why the show was canceled in the first place.
I have to wonder why this always happens. A new show appears, it is clever and funny. The writers take time to carefully plant jokes that are subtle yet obvious. Overall, a great deal of effort is put into this show. Then suddenly they get another season and all that wit and humor is thrown in the garbage. All of the sudden they start making bad obvious jokes. Why because the network won't let them be canceled for at least another season or two. So they have free reign to do whatever they want. Then suddenly your show is a pile of main stream garbage. It is so very sad.
Anyway, this new season of anime is hitting me like a ton of bricks. I am doing my best to keep up with everything. Sadly, Crunchyroll is doing a poor job of keeping the new stuff organized, and phasing out the old stuff. They have at least 6 new shows, none of which appear on the home page.; Plus the rest of the fansubbers decided this week was the week to release. So I have a nice stock pile of anime I am trying to keep up with. Not too mention all the reviews I have yet to write. Oh well I will get it done this week... some how.
