The Beginning of The End
Big news at Comiket, there are new cosplay rules. Of course this is being called a direct attack on sexy cosplay. You know the closest thing that most otakus have to having sex. As always, it is a rule imposed under the flimsy ideal of "Avoiding indecent exposure" Ah yes I love those flimsy rules. Where the older generation imposes their will on the younger generation.
This has been happening since the dawn of civilization. The older generation decides the younger generation is wrong. Therefore, the older generation needs to make the younger generation miserable, for their own good. The younger generation of course cannot do anything about this. After all, the older generation has the good credit needed to get the loans and the experience needed to run the business right? The younger generation cannot do anything right after all.
I can say I am a little happy to hear this. Cosplay has started to become boring. After all, so few girls actually cosplay any more. They like to do their own sexy interpretation of the character they are cosplaying. After seeing some of Wonderfest's cosplay I am happy to see that people will actually have to try. There is nothing wrong with actually doing the correct CC cosplay right? Well I would hope not but the girls might have something to add.... :P Too bad they will likely not find this site.
The thing that sucks about this stuff is the fact that it will have a domino effect. Little by little all cosplay will be banned. Slowly the midriff will have to be covered. Then the breasts will have to be completely covered, as opposed to the 1/3 exposure they currently have. Then the guise of shorts will have to appear... slowly everything that is not a very modest school uniform or a furry costume will be banned.
Of course a little creativity can get around these rules. For instance, have you ever noticed how in some anime there are really dark shadows inside the girls skirts? You know it is a bright sunny day, then a downward angle reveals that it is dark as night under the skirt. This is something that is easy to replicate. You just need a little spray paint. Granted most will find this to be boring. After all, most otaku only see girls during these conventions.
Yet another attack on the anime industry. They just keep coming one after another. Not that it is all bad. After all, people having to actually try a bit harder is never a bad thing. Either way it will be interesting to see what shows up at Comiket... speaking of which I need to start on my cosplay for NDK.
