This was an interesting failure at an attempt to redefine the harem genre of anime. That really killed the series after a while. For starters the main character was not a tool. It is true, they made him competent. Even worse they kept the innocent nature of him. That is where they went wrong. Then there was the females.
When it comes to Harems there is not much you can do to create a unique cast of females. You just sort of take what has already been done, and redo it. I just did not like the females in this one. Yeah I just cannot describe why I did not like them all that much. Perhaps it was their boobs. The boobs were all to scary large. Other than that.. hmm well.. hmmm yup the cast just did not work out for me. Granted the plot might have had something to do with my dislike of them.
The plot had WAY too much going on. You had corperations working with governments working with militant groups, funded by other corperations trying to start a nuclear world war. There was just WAY too much going on. Given the length of the series. What was even worse was how they decided to cram all this stuff in at the end. In reality I have watched some pretty complex anime that happens in a short period of time. However, this one.. yeah this one needed to spread out all the story points.
The anime feels like one of my reports from school. I stared off on it slowly and then crammed everything in towards the end. Followed by an attempt to reinvent something that worked just fine. You get yourself a nice disaster of a series.
