If there is one thing that ruins this anime, it is the near god stature of the main characters. I get it that they are smarter than the rest, but at times it was kind of out of hand. It is one thing to be good at something, but geez this is one of the things that can make any anime suck. The only thing that made it worse was the fact that they were surrounded by their exact opposite.

Steph was 100% opposite of blank. I think that was an interesting idea on the author's part, but really you have to have someone who sucks so bad with people who are supposed to be so awesome. I think Steph might have been better if she was literally not the exact opposite of Blank. First off she is naive and stupid. You know a staple character in any anime. However, she was fairly consciously stupid. She is not like the usual kinds of naive stupid characters. You know the ones who are legitimately pure of heart? No she is just one of those who has been corrupted.. but for some reason is just not smart enough to understand why.

Then we have Steph's background story. Unlike blank she finished school and had actual social skills. For her complete lack of vision and understanding she some how was an honor roll student. Who was able to keep all of Blank's policies on the up and up. Some how this girl who could not figure out how the win at poker or chess or guessing when the birds would fly away. Has a silver tongue that can keep all the other nobles off the backs of the king? I do not get it really... I mean... since when has the world ever worked like that... I do not know it just kind of ruins things to have her suck at everything that is going on. You know while our broken kings some how manage to succeed.

I think the biggest problem that Blank had was the fact that some how they over came their Hikikomori nature the second they were brought to the new world. I don't know.. i just seems a bit too convenient to have that happen. They would glorify the fact that they are scared of the world and stuff. Yet some how they are able to go out enough to start ruling a country? It would seem that the crippling fear of socializing would play more into this than it actually did. I mean for the most part you forget that they ever had a problem like that one. I just do not get it.... then again.. I guess I am not the writer. The worst part about this series is how short it is.

That is the worst thing about this anime. Probably the best anime of the season and it gets cut off after your standard 12. I mean come on there are 16 races.. this anime could easily go of for another 50 or so episodes... yet for some reason it ends. You know to sell special edition DVD sets that come with panties for some reason.

So overall, the anime kind of ruins itself with the factors that make it awesome. You have the unstoppable force of blank, coupled with the idiot from the previous regime. Then you wrap it all up with the fact that the anime is far too short for the kind of world that it has been set up in. Such wonderful disappointments for an anime to come up with. I am not sure what I can do about this anime other than cry a little every time I realize all these things.
