Embrace Your Failure
You know you really have to love these random short animes that are popping up. I mean they are great because it takes me longer to boot up my computer and connect to Crunchyroll or to boot up my PS3 and connect to Crunchyroll, than the episode takes. So that is always a plus, I guess, I am not sure some days because it can be hard to tell when this sort of thing is a good thing. However, in a rare turn of events, that is not the best feature this anime has.
This is one of those animes that has a good "What The Fuck" quality to it. I think that is best displayed by our protagonist, Sayuri. I mean she runs around and does her job and then out of no where does something... insane. You know like almost kill someone for upsetting her or going against the hotel or just because she cannot control her strength. You have to sit there and wonder how people come up with this stuff, not that it is something too new in the world of anime. It adds a whole new dimension to my slight fear of big boobs. Good thing Sayuri would never think to use them that way.
I think a lot of people do short animes because then they can have their characters be one dimensional. You just have to pick one quirk about a character and fill in the rest. I think Billy was probably the best example of this. I unless I am mistaken he was supposed to be some kind of forgien thug. Then again, I do have a wonderful talent for misreading this kind of stuff. Well regardless, he is pretty funny. Then you have Misono, who is your typical self-hating college student. I liked him because he embraced everything that he was. You know that loser that is just going to live out life alone or something I am not sure. I think that adds to the charm of the show. The overall obnoxious characters, it allows you to focus on the plots of the episodes.
Now again, maybe I am high, but each episode focused pretty much solely on one point, I think. Because the anime is short they did not have to do anything with the characters. Really all the different character personalities played right into the random crap that happened. Which was kind of fun, jumping around. These animes that embrace the extremely obnoxious random nature are always better than the super gag animes where they try and force a story into the anime and fail on either the gag side of things or the story side of things. Which has always been fun to watch, but this anime just sort of flopped over and was random and embraced the fact that only a shut-in like me would actually ever watch it.
So overall, I say this is one of the few animes that you have more than one reason to watch. Well you always have the one reason of the fact that the anime is freaking hilarious and is great for when you need to fill a couple of minutes. There is no real commitment to this anime. As long as you know the them you could just watch select episodes that are better than other episodes. Those kinds of animes are always the best. Anyway, I guess I am saying that you need to sit down and watch this anime.
