Have you ever watched an anime and wondered why you were watching it. Not in a bad way but in a good way. The way that you want to watch it more but you do not know why you want to watch it more? Well that is the way I feel about Nyaruko, it is one of those animes that you just have to love... and hate.. and love some more. I mean really the author took a mythos that no one really talks about and turned it into one of the goofieset animes around. After all, we can start off with the fact that certain roles are reversed.

For instance all the obnoxious NEET, perverted nonsense comes from the females. I guess maybe it does sometimes in other animes. However, in most animes you only have one girl who does all that stuff. In this anime, all the females were the NEET perverts. I mean really it was kind of weird at first to have a girl chasing the boy around try to get him to grope her and do other things. Then when that fails she would run back to playing video games while she plots her next move. All the while avoiding her counterpart who wants to have her baby. I guess gods have that kind of power.

Then there is the fact that pretty much all of the adventures are nonsense adventures. I really like how they make it misleading at first though. You have the mom who gets taken away by space ships and everyone is freaking out and she looks super serious and all that jazz. Then it turns out that she is just going to be a tester for a new video game system. There were plenty of other adventures like that. I mean I guess a few were serious towards the end, but really there was nothing all that serious about the anime.

Then there was all the blatant parodies going on, that was amusing too. I mean it is not often that you get to see an anime hit pretty much every franchise in the industry. I am pretty sure there were even a few unknown ones in there as well. I honestly cannot think of an episode where there was not a parody of some kind going on. I even got a lot of the parodies, that was good too.

Besides that you have the other just random nonsense that was always going on. Like their Space CQC being whatever you determine it to be. So you get the one who has the crow bar and the other who has funnels... that magically shoot out of her dress... where are they hiding anyway? Plus you have the whole ridiculous nature of all the characters and their powers. At the end of the day they just sort of stop making sense.

So regardless, this is a series that I feel is worth at least a passive watch. True enough with some of the stuff that goes on in this anime and some of the stuff that is said.. you might lose a few brain cells... but.. you know sometimes you just have to take that risk and enjoy the show because at the end of the day there is nothing else that can be done. Sit back, relax and just feel your brain cells committing suicide while you watch the show. At least the show is funny.. I mean that is more than most shows get anyway. Plus the theme songs are fun to watch too because they are so incredibly goofy.
