I guess the main reason I like this anime so much is because it feels just so incredibly different from what I am used too for this Genre. I mean I am not used to narcissistic main characters. There are a few out there, but they are rarely the lead characters. Plus then there is the whole triva information side of the series. You would be surprised at the amount of knowledge that was put into this series. There were a lot of legends looked up to make it. The only one that has more is probably... Campione. The only reason that one has more is because it is all myths. The only thing that did not feel too different was the whole gift/magic system.

Not that this is a bad thing. To be honest even though it is not that different it is still different because the gift system is just so odd. Yeah they were kind of lazy with the main character and making his gift an unknown. However, the girl who can control anything with her voice and the girl who can borrow powers. Both very interesting ideas that I have never seen before. That is kind of unusual for me. Regardless it makes for an interesting series when those two fight. Not really our lead who just beats on things till they break, but the girls at least have to think a little. Plus you add the whole element of them being full of themselves.

Again this is kind of a new thing for me. The only time I have seen characters more full of themselves, than these ones. Is in anime that is supposed to be a comedy of some kind. Well that or the character is a villain of some kind. There are plenty of times when the characters in the series are confident, but rarely do any of them display any kind of narcissism. That is actually kind of a rare thing. At least I think so. Rarely is there a some what serious anime where the characters are just off the wall in love with themselves and still called the "Good Guys". Plus there is the whole western history and myth part of this.

I am from the west and I have heard all the stories that this anime covers, but I have never actually researched them or anything like that. So you get a lot of good information about the stuff that I should know. It is a little limited, but hey you know that is what happens when you only have 10 episodes. I have to wonder exactly how much research was put into this anime. Again it could not have been too much, but you know there has to be some decent amount put in to avoid there being some kind of false information given out or something like that... maybe.. I am not sure. Regardless, it is a nice break from the fighting and can lead to interesting decisions in the story.

Then there is the awesome ending sequence. At least I think it is awesome, you have the little chibi characters doing the dance. However, it is not just any dance, no you get to watch them break it down, and rock out. Not like your traditional anime dances where the character just does some obnoxious prebuilt dance. Nope, there is break dancing and real getting down in this anime. Even better they do not make the male lead look like a complete tool. That is a rare thing for dances in anime. Having a male character actually look cool during a dance.

So all in all this anime is worth a watch. While it does fall into a shounen action series slot. It removes a lot of the traditional elements and adds in some random trivia. Plus it is always interesting seeing exactly what the characters will do next. They are going to make the poor black rabbit a gray rabbit if they keep up the way they do. Oh yeah did I mention that it is only 10 episodes? Yeah shorter, but at last they cut it off when they had the chance. So it is also shorter than most series. Just some other random idea to make the anime watch able. You do not have the extra hour of stuff if you are just watching this anime to say that you watched it. I hope that a season 2 will be forth coming.
