So my biggest gripe about this anime is how all the characters are literally gods among the men they are around. Yes true anyone can pick up a sword and call themselves a Samurai. However, at the same time. It is kind of annoying watching a normal human being cut a giant battle robot into pieces. You know as if it were a human being. Not everyone can do this though.

No there are more than enough scrubs out there who are just peasants who pretend to be samurai. Having the bandits kill them with ease. Well in the beginning anyway. Then suddenly later on all the other Samurai were capable of dealing with these mechs like they were nothing. When did this happen? That is a pretty huge plot shift. Which makes me wonder why it took so damn long to find all the Samurai who would protect the world village.

I am really amused at how Katsushiro suddenly gained like 50 levels one day. Here he was a kid barely able to hold a sword. Then 15 or so episode later he is on the same level as the rest of seven. When the hell did that happen? If anything Katsushiro just got in the way during this whole time. Then suddenly out of no where he gained the strength of a seasoned warrior. Then again females might do that to a guy.

I also hate how annoying the female lead is. She is just... gah she needs a good smack. I kind of wish she would have been maimed or something. You know lose an arm, an eye, a boob.. you know something. However, since she manages to escape pretty much unscathed, thanks to the samurai. She develops an attitude. It is funny because none of the other, hideous, females in the village had this attitude. Which was another hilarious thing. All she did was waste time. At least her little sister was amusing. After they saved the village. It is like she had her period and it never ended.

If this series had a few more montages or X months/years later portions. A lot of these things would make sense. There is progression there is plenty of other stuff going on. However, without any concept of what time has passed everything falls apart. I do not know, maybe I am just easily annoyed or something.
