So over all this series is a good time killer. However, my main problem with it is the fact that it has to god characters in it, Ika and Chizuru. Having characters like this completely throws off the balance of the series. I understand that the series focuses around the idea that Chizuru keeps Ika in like, but still there is no other balance.

So lets start off with Ika. Now I give the writer credit. He went through and did some very through research on squids to see what kind of abilities they all have. He did a good job with that. However, one character cannot have all those powers. I am glad that they took out the whole weight thing because that did not make any sense. Maybe that was not intentional... however it was a good move and made Ika seem slightly less annoying. Then again I guess it was a good way to show Chizuru's weakness.

So after watching the series I believe Chizuru has at least one weakness and one flaw. The first is her obsession with her weight. I am not sure what that was all about. It kind of came by then passed away. So I could say that I do not care about that kind of thing. Her one flaw is that she is the incarnation of darkness. She seems to want to be nice and out going. However, she seems to carry a death aura around with her. Sadly these qualities are not enough to make up for her near perfection. First off she has a physic sense. Ok that is find, I do not mind people who are aware of their surroundings. Second is her super strength. That is the most annoying thing out there. She is unmatched in power. I mean literally unmatched there is nothing anyone can do to beat her. She is like the Incredible Hulk. You would not like her when she is angry. At least in other series most of the characters at least appear vulnerable. It just feels lazy to make her pretty much immortal.

Speaking of lazy, I am so tired of Ikas replacement of sounds with ink, squid, and tentacle. Yes I get the joke she is from the see. However, it is not like she does not know Japanese. This just makes her even more annoying. All she does is run around and be annoying with her, what I guess is supposed to be cute, mixed up words. It shows that she is a squid. I do not see why she needs to mix up the words, but that is me.

One more thing, when do Chizuru and Eiko go to school? That is one thing that I have never understood. The two sisters are clearly high schoolers. Yet they run the shop on the beach all year round. Only their brother seems to attend school. I know that they are high schoolers because most NEETs do not like anime where the girls are in college or are working girls. So when do they go to school? Maybe I am missing something.

So like any series it has its flaws. However, I can also say that I am just nitpicking some of these things. Animes like this only require random stories. However, they are things that might gnaw at the back of your mind if you let them.
