So there were two things that REALLY annoyed the hell out of me. The god like power of the main character and the authors stretching of his imagination. These two attributes are really annoying. But nothing says incredible hero like winning against all odds.
This was the first VERY annoying thing. The author liked to pit the main character against impossible odds or make impossible things just happen out of no where. For instance in one episode, the main characters dad accidentally starts a spell that would bring about the end of the world if not stopped. What are the odds that the father would managed to put certain things in just the right spots to trigger this. After all the family was an ESPer family, with no magical talent. But they author covers that ground by saying the 100s of religious charms the father bought over time gave the house magical power. It was all just a fluke. Or how about or friend Vector. Who manages to undo a telepathic virus by reversing the direction of the victims brain waves, or something like that. Now I do not doubt that could be done, but to have one person do that, it is a stretch. And to top things off he finishes just in time to bounce a bullet out of his skull. And someone who is that intelligent just happens to get beaten, but hey in all fairness the person who beat him had his own god skill.
While I realize that the main characters power was needed to make the series work, it was a bit much. The one hand that is invulnerable to any kind of energy. I mean it was ok in the beginning when no one really knew about him. But by the end of the series everyone knew who he was. There was no excuse for them to be so fucking shocked about his ability near the end. Through the entire series every bad guy nearly shit his or her pants every time their magic or power was stopped. Allowing the main character just enough time to beat the shit out of the bad guy. I would say it is a stretch but arrogant people just do not learn.
