The one thing that ruins this show is how last minute everything is. When I say last minute I mean last minute. Whether it be Saya killing the aged ones or letting the story fall.. into place... I guess. Everything in this show holds out to the last minute. Which easily ruin the show. I guess the worst part is when they try and make the show seem like it is a super hero show.

This show does not work as a super hero show. The premise is too dark for anything like that. At least in sentai or other colored hero shows. The good guys do some damage to their enemies. Not Saya, she basically lets everyone die, and then a few extra people die before she turns on her power and actually tries to kill the aged one. The episode of the one in the classroom was the perfect example. I mean everyone died in that episode. Well everyone in the class room that is. Most of them died and Saya just stood there and watched. She had plenty of chances to save everyone. Not that she could take them. The only thing worse than watching Saya epically fail is watching is the story

The story makes no sense at all. I guess the story having some complex deep uhhh method is part of CLAMP's style. However, this time around there is no mystery or ambiance till about half way through the series. Not even half way really. It is like the last three episodes where the CLAMP stuff starts to kick in. The weird empty buildings. The sudden disappearance of a town. The only thing that I thought was strange was how all the aged ones did not kill Saya right away. Then the last couple of episodes they push the tower over and hope that it falls into place. Which they did a miserable job of. Literally, the only thing that allowed me to not be surprised was a hunch. That really ruins the show. They decide to show all their hidden details during the end of the show. Which makes it even harder to watch.

I get that this series is really a Goro series. However, it plays out like a hentai really, a bad hentai. You know the hentai where there is a VERY loose story between the never-ending sex scenes? You know the ones, it is almost like watching Porn, but it is animated. That is what this series is to Goro. You have chunks of story. Followed by humans being ripped apart, blended, shredded, skewered, and many other things. That was all that I can really say this series is about. Couple that with the last minute heroism and last minute plot. You have the making for a very painful anime to watch.
