Claude ruined this otherwise sweet show for me. Seriously, I just felt bad for Yune. Here is this sweet little girl who comes across the planet just to see Paris. Then the guy she lives with is a total dick. Granted she did just kind of appear. However, he is living with his grandpa. I really wanted to put Claude out of his misery.

First he shows up and basically calls her stupid. Then instead of adjusting to all her rituals and at least taking an interest in them. He basically calls them all stupid because he does not understand them. I feel really bad for Yune, because Claude takes out his frustration at the department store on her. All she wants to do is explore and learn about the west. All he wants to do is pretend the world is not the way it is.

Seriously, Claude just pisses me off. He has so much going for him. He is a pretty good blacksmith. A trade that will never really go out of style. On top of that he has a reasonably good shop with regular customers. Top it all off the daughter of the owner of the department store is head over heels in love with Claude. However, all he can focus on is how everyone around him is going out of business. Even worse is he takes it out on Yune.

It is one thing when I just hate the cast in general. Like with Nanoha, I hate everyone in that show. I can deal with that because there is a strong story. However, when the story revolves around the hatred of one man and how he does everything but rape the girl. It just ruins the story. Especially when they try and add in their cute little chibi sections.
